EFT Help with Prostate Pain and Urinary Problems

My husband and I recently visited some old friends of his (I had never met them). We spent the night at their country home. “George” (who is 57 years old) went to bed early because he was having pain from his prostate problem. I told him that I did a technique that might be able to help, though I wasn’t sure because I had never worked on anyone with that issue before. We worked together for about an hour.

I told "George" that in my experience, several things help with EFT working better :

  • Rapport with the practitioner (we had established rapport during dinner)
  • Willingness--he was incredibly willing for the pain to not be there
  • Positive attitude
  • Persistence
  • Physical ways of changing energy: laughing, deeper breathing, crying, growling

PAIN:

I asked “George” where was the pain. He said that the tip of his penis hurt. Sometimes it gets up to an “8”. At times, the pain goes all the way to his prostate gland. Tonight, it was a “5”. He also said that his doctor had prescribed antibiotics and that he was trying to stay away from them as much as possible. He had been off antibiotics for a while.

Set-up phrases:

  • Even though my penis sometimes hurts like hell, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • Even though my penis has a burning sensation ...
  • Even though my penis really hurts ...

I had him yell the different phrases. Also, I had him tap certain points for a prolonged time. I worked hard to get him to laugh, and eventually he did. His pain dropped to zero in one round.

URINARY PROBLEMS:
The next issue that we worked on was difficulty emptying his bladder. On average, he had to get up five times during the night. He would have to stand there for a long time before anything would come out. When it would, it would really hurt, and he would anticipate the pain.

Set-up phrases:
  • Even though it has been hard for me to pee, I deeply and completely love and accept myself
  • Even though sometimes it only comes out in a dribble ...
  • Even though when the pee only dribbles out it makes me feel like an old man and I hate that ...
  • Even though sometimes I pee like an old man ...

Reminder phrases:
(I had him alternate)
  • It only dribbles
  • Pee comes out slowly

Set-up phrases:
  • Even though in the last couple of years my pee has come out slowly, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and my penis
  • Even though my pee might come out slowly, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and my penis
  • I forgive myself and my penis for anything that I may have done

Reminder phrases:
(I had him alternate and had him imagine the positive images)
  • Even though it may come out in a dribble
  • And then again it may come out like a race horse
  • And sometimes just a dribble
  • I relax and let it flow like Niagara Falls
  • And sometimes it's slow and I relax
  • And let it flow like a fire hydrant
  • I just let it flow and go easy on myself
  • If I feel angry because it isn't flowing, I just let the anger flow easily out of my penis

I told him when he got up to go to the bathroom to turn the faucet on (an auditory reminder) and tap, then consciously breathe and use one of the visualizations:
  • Peeing like a race horse
  • Let it flow like Niagara Falls
  • Flow like a fire hydrant

The next morning he reported:
  • He had gotten up fewer times
  • It was easier to pee
  • He wasn't feeling pain

ANTICIPATING PAIN AND TENSING MUSCLES

I noticed that before "George" would stand up that he would prepare for the pain by tensing up his facial muscles (and other muscles, too). I brought this up to him, and asked him to close his eyes and imagine himself being a vigorous 40 year old man, breathing and standing up easily. Then we tapped.

Set-up phrases:
  • Even though I have been tensing my body before I stand up, and that anticipation of the pain has helped intensify the pain, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Even though by tensing my body before standing up has intensified the pain--I didn't know any better. I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
  • Now, before I stand up, I breathe slowly, relax and imagine that I am 40 years old, and then stand up easily.

Reminder phrases:
  • Releasing fear of penis pain
  • It's easy to stand
  • Go away penis pain
  • It's easy to stand up
  • Releasing penis pain
  • Go away penis pain
  • I am aware of my relaxed body
  • It is easy for me to stand up

He was able to stand up without clenching his muscles in anticipation of the pain.

How to Git Rid of the Holiday Blahs

The Holiday Season can be one of great joy! It can also bring up uncomfortable feelings or issues. Here are a few:

  • You may feel anxious because of all that you have to do, and not enough time to do it all.
  • Maybe you don't have enough money to buy the gifts that you want to buy for your loved ones.
  • Maybe you are away from family and you would like to be with them and you can't be.
  • Maybe you are going to be with family and that brings up a lot of old patterns that you would rather not deal with.
  • Maybe you'll get gifts that you feel obligated to "act" like you like them even though you don't.
  • Maybe you are going to be alone this holiday season.
  • Maybe you want to be invited to an event that you haven't been invited to.
  • Maybe you are fighting with someone.
  • Maybe something happened during the Holiday Season in the past and it comes up for you during this time.
  • Maybe you just don't like the idea spending money on gifts to show people that you love them.
  • Maybe you hate how commercial Christmas is.

This is just a partial list of issues that come to mind. You can cross out the ones that don't resonate with you, and add ones that do. Not only that, there is something POSITIVE that you CAN DO that will make it so you have less stress during this season. You may have guessed it--EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

For those of you who are not too familiar with how to do EFT, here is a way to make for less stress this holiday season. Start with one of uncomfortable feelings or issues. Make it into a Set-up Phrase, for example:

  • Even though I feel anxious because of all that I have to do, and I don't seem to have enough time, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Before tapping on it, you need to assess what level of distress you are feeling--on a level of zero to ten (zero being no stress, and ten being the max!) Take a note of the distress level.

Now, you either rub on your sore spot on your chest or the karate chop on the side of the hand while repeating your Set-up Phrase three times.

Then, tap on the different points while saying the Reminder Phrase, "Holiday Anxiety" at each point.

  • Eyebrow
  • Outer eyebrow
  • Under eye
  • Under nose
  • Under bottom lip
  • Collarbone
  • Underarm

Close your eyes and ask yourself what is the distress level now? Your working on bringing it down to zero.

HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY!!!

Important note: While EFT has produced remarkable clinical results, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage and thus practitioners and the public must take complete responsibility for their use of it. Further, JoAnn SkyWatcher is not a licensed health professional and offers EFT as an ordained minister and as an energy coach.

When You Can't Wash Your Hands

Whether you love this time of year, or would rather crawl into a hole until it's over, one thing is sure and that is the fact that the cold and flu season goes hand in hand with the winter holidays.

And speaking of hands, did you know that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends frequent hand-washing as the best prevention against colds and flu? (See article below).

In fact, last week was "National Hand Washing Awareness Week". Please don't be dismayed if you didn't know about it, as you can celebrate at any time.

According to the CDC, you should you wash your hands:

* After coughing or sneezing (if you covered your nose or mouth
with your hand)
* Before, during, and after you prepare food
* Before you eat, and after you use the bathroom
* When your hands are dirty, and
* More frequently when someone you live with is sick.

That recommendation is all well and good, but not practical or even possible in many situations. Many public rest rooms do not have hot water or effective soap...and often there are no rest rooms available.

Young Living, however, has the secret weapon: Thieves Spray!

Thieves Spray is based on the renowned and proprietary Young Living Thieves essential oil blend which has been proven to be effective against a range of germs including airborne Micrococcus luteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus. In addition, it has recently been shown to kill Stachybotrys black mold, which has been implicated in many common immune system illnesses and can even be life-threatening.

Whether you use Thieves Spray, or carry around a bottle of Thieves oil in your pocket or purse, you'll be assured of having the kind of protection you want and need...when you want and need it.

And, if you haven't tried the other Thieves products yet, you're in for a treat! They are: Thieves Household Cleaner (awesome product!), Thieves Hard and Soft Lozenges, Thieves Dentarome Toothpastes, Thieves Fresh Essence Plus, Thieves Wipes and Thieves Soap.

From The Tribune-Star

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "Handwashing is the single most important means to prevent the spread of infection."

The CDC estimates that 36,000 people die from the flu or flu-like illness each year, 5,000 people die from foodborne illness each year, and between 78,000 and 90,000 patients die each year from Hospital Acquired Infections, for which a direct link to many of these deaths is poor handwashing.

Handwashing and hand awareness is important for infection prevention, food safety, school health, personal health and disease prevention. 164 million days are lost from school each year because of illness, of which 22 million are due to the common cold alone. Washing hands can prevent lost school and work days. There are many critical times to wash your hands. It is important to wash hands before eating, after the toilet, during food preparation, after handling animals, after changing diapers or using a tissue, leaving the hospital or physician's office and any time you think your hands are dirty. Use soap, running water, and scrub all surfaces of your hands and wrists for 20 seconds and dry with a paper towel.

National Handwashing Awareness Week promotes the importance of handwashing and hand awareness on television, radio, newspaper and the Internet to give everyone a head start to prevent illness this winter, according to a news release.

The first National Handwashing Awareness Week started in 1999 in Cincinnati because of the flu vaccine shortage by the collaboration of the Henry the Hand Foundation and the Greater Cincinnati Health Council Flu Vaccine Committee to educate the public about handwashing as the first line of defense against the flu or flu-like illness.

Hornet Sting Pain Vanishes with EFT

Yesterday, I was in a hurry to get to town for an appointment. As I reached into my country mailbox, I saw a hornet in the back, which is not unusual. The moment I picked up the mail I felt an “electric” shock on the side of my hand. One of those damn hornets must have stung me. I was running on a deadline to get to town, and needed to drive. I usually use essential oils for insect bites, but I had forgotten to carry my oils with me that day. Though my hand now throb with pain, I felt as though I had to keep driving on a twisty, curvy, country road. So, I thought of doing EFT! It wasn’t appropriate to use both hands and tap on my karate chop point because I had to pay attention to the road. I was able to drive with one hand on the steering wheel, and rub on my sore spot on my chest.

My set-up phrases included:
•Even though I got stung by a damn hornet, and it hurts like hell, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
•Even though I hate it that I got stung by a damn hornet, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
•Even though there is a feeling like an electric shock on the side of my hand, I deeply and completely love and accept myself!

Then I tapped on my different meridians, saying my reminder phrase, “damn hornet sting” (sometimes I said damn with emphasis). By the time I had tapped on my eyebrow point, and the side of the eye point, I could feel the sting lessening. By the tme I completed one round of tapping the pain had become barely noticeable.

Like Gary says, try EFT on everything. By the way, when we got to our destination, I couldn’t tell exactly where the hornet had stung me. There was no red spot, no swelling, nothing at all except a fading memory.

Hugs can Change your Life!

Challenge Day founders Rich and Yvonne Dutra-St. John teach that we need at least three hugs a day just to get by. They go on to say that if we get six hugs a day we will feel even better. To thoroughly thrive, even in stressful circumstances, consider getting twelve hugs a day, or even more. I consider this to be the nirvana for hug getting (at least for me). Twelve hugs takes me to a blissful state.

I have been hearing this about hugs for years. My husband Steve and I live way out in the country, and we work at home. Many days we only see each other, so we are the only source for hugs. The other day I had an “aha.” Even though Steve and I are “alone” with each other, we can hug each other twelve times (or more!) a day.

We started our experiment last week. About every hour or so, I ask for a hug from my husband, Steve (or he grabs me for a hug). It’s such an easy thing to do, and with each hug, I feel warm and fuzzy. It’s a pleasant reminder that I am not alone. The first day of the experiment, we got at least twelve hugs, and we both felt that it added to our day. We wondered why we hadn’t taken advantage of doing this before, especially because we “know” about the power of hugs.

Our experiment continues. Most of the time I really want to give my beloved husband a hug. At one point, I got triggered, and I was pouting like a little girl. I didn’t feel like hugging Steve. So, I didn’t until I got out of my funk. I apologized to Steve for acting like a baby and we started back on the road to feeling better through hugging.

If you don’t have a person to hug, petting an animal can make a difference. That is one reason many people have pets—so they can pet them.

Remember, when you are out getting your healthy dose of hugs a day, to always ask permission first.

The "Dirty Dozen" Fruits and Vegetables

I try to buy organic, and sometimes there isn't a choice. I also try to keep track of which commercial vegetables and fruits to steer clear from and which are the safest. The list has changed since the last list came out in 2003.

There have been some ratings revisions since the last Guide came out in October 2003.
For instance, carrots are off the "bad" list now but lettuce is on it. Cauliflower has fallen from grace but cabbage has made the cut and is now on the "good list."

The "Dirty Dozen" (starting with the worst)

* peaches
* apples
* sweet bell peppers
* celery
* nectarines
* strawberries
* cherries
* pears
* grapes (imported)
* spinach
* lettuce
* potatoes

The "Cleanest 12" (starting with the best)

* onions
* avocados
* sweet corn (frozen)
* pineapples
* mangoes
* asparagus
* sweet peas (frozen)
* kiwi fruit
* bananas
* cabbage
* broccoli
* papaya

Dismantling Procrastination—3 Action Steps

My friend, Catherine Beham, wrote this article about breaking down procrastination. You might want to try it next time you find that you are spinning your wheels.

“I feel so lazy.”

“I lose so much time.”

“I feel so bad about myself.”

“I’m stuck.”

Procrastination eats away at our sense of Well Being more than any other self defeating habit.

By time many of us are ready to face procrastination and begin dealing with it, we are so buried with negative emotion and uncompleted projects we don’t know where to start.

There really is a way out of procrastination’s iron grip

Dealing with the negative thinking that goes with procrastination is a great way to turn this ship around. Dissolving frustration and anger we hold about our stacks of undone tasks creates momentum to create permanent change.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
is ideal for this purpose. It allows you to acknowledge the current state of affairs and to build a foundation for joyful productivity.

Once emotional intensity around the shame, guilt and frustration is weakened, creative problem solving springs to life. There really is a way out of procrastination’s iron grip.

What To Put In The Tool Box

Here are three action steps you can put into practice immediately. It is a wonderful feeling to sense movement and to have a plan. Be your own best friend here, gently encourage and praise yourself for every baby step you take.

Action Step #1

Notice.

Become aware of how you feel when you look at the list of what has to be done. How quickly you identify your negative thought (frustration, guilt, shame, impatience, whatever is there) will give you a clue as to how soon you will notice progress.

You may notice that in the past, you felt lousy for the whole day thinking about that Grand Daddy of a project. A slight waste of your precious time and energy, don’t you think?

Now, when you notice your inner reaction, STOP. Say this:

“Even though I don’t know how I will ever get this done…I choose to believe my Inner Being will equip me.”

You have nothing to lose to try this technique, I can tell you…be prepared to be amazed.

Action Step #2

Own the Plan.

Rewrite your To Do List and rank the order of tasks by when you want them done. Put your most procrastinated item on the top of your list.

Good work. Now go to the third one down on the list. That’s right, the third one. Break that third task into bite sized chunks and attack the first step with gusto.

Why the third one down? It has far less emotional weight to it than your Grand Daddy project. You will be amazed how easy it is to accomplish a less emotionally loaded task.

Once you have begun work on this “easier” but still procrastinated task, the inspiration and encouragement you will gain will manifest itself in motivation.

As you attend to this lower priority task, you may have doubt or disbelief that this will work. I can almost hear you say….but this is not the task I need to focus on.

If this is you, say the following: “Even though I don’t see how working on this unrelated task has anything to do with the project that is critically neglected….I choose to allow ANY ACCOMPLISHMENT to inspire and motivate me.”

For extra oomph, say this while looking at yourself in the mirror.

Action Step #3

Whistle While You Work.

The Seven Dwarves had a great technique for achievement.

Music.

The more important the task is facing you, the more crucial it is to play music in the background. There are countless wonderful CDs available with inspiring music.

Itunes makes it possible to download your faverites right from your desk. Music changes the atmosphere. Music inspires. Music empowers.

It is widely known that the Baroque music style is particularly effective in creating an atmosphere of efficient mental processing.

For extra empowerment, add a couple of candles.

Now break down your Grand Daddy Task into bite sized pieces while listening to your choice of music. After the task has been broken down, find a mirror and say:

“Even though I am still feeling a bit overwhelmed by this task….I choose to see these steps as doable and I choose to feel hopeful and inspired.”

Getting Unstuck

For all you sharpies out there, you might have noticed that the three action steps are more than meet the eye. The first letters of each form the final tool.

N O W. The key to dismantling your procrastination lifestyle is to use one of these tools NOW. NOW is the moment of power. NOW is the moment of freedom.

Even if all you do is notice your negative thoughts and choose to transform them through the “Even though…” technique, that is plenty.

That action step alone will change your life.

I promise.

One Way of Installing Love

My friend, Sue, sent this to me, and I thought that you might enjoy it.

Customer Service (CS) Rep.: "Yes, Ma'am, how may I help you today?"

Customer: "Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install LOVE.
Can you guide me through the process?"

CS Rep.: "Yes, I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?"

Customer: "Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready to install
now. What do I do first?"

CS Rep.: "The first step is to open your HEART. Have you located your HEART
ma'am?"

Customer: "Yes I have, but there are several other programs running right
now. Is it okay to install while they are running?"

CS Rep.: "What programs are running ma'am?"

Customer: "Let's see, I have PAST-HURT.EXE, LOW ESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE, and
RESENTMENT.COM running right now."

CS Rep. : "No problem. LOVE will gradually erase PAST-HURT.EXE from your
current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it
will no longer disrupt other programs. LOVE will eventually overwrite
LOW-ESTEEM.EXE with a module of its own called HIGH-ESTEEM.EXE. However,
you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM. Those
programs prevent LOVE from being properly installed. Can you turn those off
ma'am?"

Customer: "I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?"

CS Rep.: "My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE. Do
this as many times as necessary until GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM have
been completely erased."

Customer: "Okay, done. LOVE has started installing itself automatically. Is
that normal?"

Cs Rep.: "Yes. You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for
the life of your HEART. Do you see that message?"

Customer: "Yes I do. Is it completely installed?"

Cs Rep.: "Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need
to begin connecting to other HEARTS in order to get the upgrades."

Customer: "Oops. I have an error message already. What should I do?"

Cs Rep.: "What does the message say?"

Customer: "It says "ERROR 412 - PROGRAM NOT RUN ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS.
What does that mean?"

Cs Rep.: "Don't worry ma'am, that's a common problem. It means that the
LOVE program is set up to run on external HEARTS but has not yet been run
on your HEART. It is one of those complicated programming things, but in
non-technical terms it means you have to "LOVE" your own machine before it
can "LOVE" others."

Customer: "So what should I do?"

Cs Rep.: "Can you pull down the directory called "SELFACCEPTANCE"?"

Customer: "Yes, I have it."

Cs Rep.: "Excellent. You're getting good at this."

Customer: "Thank you."

Cs Rep.: "You're welcome. Click on the following files and then copy them
to the "MYHEART" directory: FORGIVE-SELF.DOC, REALIZE-WORTH.TXT, and
ACKNOWLEDGE-LIMITATIONS.DOC. The system will overwrite any conflicting
files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also, you need to delete
VERBOSE-SELF-CRITIC.EXE from all directories, and then empty your recycle
bin afterwards to make sure it is completely and permanently gone erased."

Customer: "Got it. Hey! My HEART is filling up with new files. SMILE.MPG is
playing on my monitor right now and it shows that PEACE.EXE, and
CONTENTMENT.COM are copying themselves all over my HEART. Is this normal?"

Cs Rep.: "Sometimes. For others it takes a while, but eventually everything
gets downloaded at the proper time. So, LOVE is installed and running. You
should be able to handle it from here. One more thing before I go."

Customer: "Yes?"

Cs Rep.: "LOVE is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to
everybody you meet. They will share it with other people and then return
some similarly sacred modules back to you."

Customer: "I will. Thanks for your help. By the way, what's your name?"

Cs Rep.: " You may call me the Divine Cardiologist, also known as The Great
Physician, but most call me God. Many people feel all they need is an
annual checkup to stay heart-healthy, but the Manufacturer suggests a
schedule of daily maintenance for maximum efficiency. Put another way, keep
in touch.

Cheers!

Releasing my Shame

This is an email that I sent to my friend and colleague, Catherine Behan, I have taken three of the four teleclasses, Being Diet Free. I certainly have curbed my cravings since taking her classes.
Dear Catherine,
While I was lying in bed this morning I decided to work on self-sabotage.

I used some Young Living essential oils:
  • I put Valor on the meaty parts of my thumbs (it helps me be courageous)
  • I put Three Wise Men on my crown chakra (to help it open)
  • I put Release on the meaty parts of my thumbs and on my sore spot (to help me release the tail-enders that no longer serve me

I wish that I would have had some kind of recording device going so that I could remember everything, but I will do my best to let you know what came up. It was
way beyond my craving for food and eating rapidly.

I sometimes rubbed on my sore spot and sometimes I tapped on my karate chop point--whatever I felt like in the moment.
  • Even though there is a part of me that knows my magnificence there isalso another part of me that is very shameful
  • Even though I know that I am a limitless being there is a part of me that gets in the way of my vastness
  • Even though I know that I am God/Goddess in form there is a part of me that is comfortable playing the victim role

I would rotate tapping:
  • I am a limitless being
  • And yet at times I am shamed filled
  • I am a light for others
  • And yet at times I feel shame for things that were done to me and that I have done
  • I am as vast as the universe
  • And I feel shame for things that my family members and ancestors have done
  • I am light filled and light is pouring out of me
  • And I have experienced my shadow deeply
  • I am whole and complete
  • And yet I have stagnated in self-pity
  • I am a limitless being
  • I am filled with light

I would use TAT (my thumb and ring resting close to my tear ducts, and
middle fingers resting on my third eye) to effortlessly come up with
other limiting beliefs to tap on.

Other limiting beliefs that came up:
  • Even though I know that I am filled with light I also know that I have been indoctrinated as a sinner
  • Even though I no longer participate in the religion that made me so wrong I still feel the sting of shame
  • Even though I no longer accept the teachings of that church I know that the scars of shame are deep

Then I alternated tapping:
  • I forgive myself for feeling shame
  • I forgive the church and its leaders for condemning me
  • I forgive myself for believing them
  • I know that I am a light
  • Even though I still feel shame
  • I am a limitless being
  • Even though I was taught that I was a sinner and that I was supposed to suffer
  • I am God/Goddess in form
  • I am a sinner
  • I am the light
  • I am the darkness
  • I am both the light and the dark
  • I am it All
  • And I know that I am at choice
  • To focus on the light
  • Or the darkness
  • I choose the Light
  • And let the darkness be
  • I am one with the Light
  • And I know it is so

Something else that came up for me when I did TAT:
  • Even though I don't have the time to do what needs to be done
  • Even though I am not good enough to do what I envision

Here is some of how I tapped:
  • Even though I come up with a lot of good ideas
  • I sometimes feel overwhelmed that I can't follow through with them
  • It is OK whatever I do
  • I am not wrong even though I sometimes feel wrong
  • Even though I say that I want to do more
  • It is OK to do what I do
  • I remember to be of love
  • And then the actions will follow
  • I am OK
  • Even though I feel not good enough
  • I am more than OK
  • I am a limitless being
  • I am a light that shines bright for others
  • I come back to this moment of perfection
  • I am One with the Light
  • I am One with All

This is part of what I remember.

Gratefully yours,

JoAnn

No More Visits Needed

Steve, my sweet husband, went in to the dentist for a scheduled cleaning on Monday, October 16. To his surprise, the dentist said that one of his wisdom teeth was cracked and that it needed to be extracted immediately. Maybe it wasn’t too much of a surprise to Steve because that tooth had become quite sensitive to heat and cold.

Steve was referred to a dentist who specializes in dental surgery. He had his tooth pulled the next day. That evening the area was still bleeding. It was then I remembered I had used Young Living’s Helichrysum Essential Oil to stop bleeding. Steve was willing to give it a try. It helped the bleeding slow down tremendously and eased the pain.

Steve mentioned that his mouth recovered much faster than he expected. Today, Steve went into the dentist for a follow-up visit. The dentist expressed surprise that it had already healed thoroughly, and that no more visits would be needed.

I am Unplugging from my Food Cravings

Catherine Behan’s class on Wednesday was great!

Some of issues that have surfaced for me since her class have been
(and I tapped on all of these issues and others, too):

• Food=Love
• Rich homemade desserts=mother love (my mother showed her love that way--daily)
• Candies=grandma's love (she had an open bowl--we could take as much as we wanted)
• Chocolate=daddy's love (I was Daddy's good little girl--I felt like he loved me the most and that I deserved all of his love)

Something else that has come up has to do with being full:

• Fullness=contentment
• Food=the big tit that I never got and could never get enough of
• My mom fed me on a schedule and so when I would eat it would be like I was starving to death and I would eat as quickly and as much as I could

I have been positively tapping on:

• Love is more than food
• Love is here right now even if I am hungry
• I am OK even if I am not stuffed full of food
• There are many other ways to feel love and experience pleasure besides food

My appetite is much lighter than usual. I am also working on eating more consciously and more slowly. I feel that my chocolate addiction has been reduced incredibly. I have a piece of one of my favorite chocolate candy bars that I have shared with my husband (in the past I usually would hide it for myself and pig out on it, until it is all gone). I still have a piece of that candy bar that I haven’t eaten (that is hard to believe)!

I am flying to San Diego to be with my family tomorrow. My family has centered around delicious food. It will be interesting to see the triggers that will be coming up while I am there.

Exercise and Community Service?

Even in these days of multi-tasking, it may seem strange to put exercise and community together in the same sentence. How we accomplish that is when my husband, Steve, and I take walks together. We are able to get out in nature; see beauty; get in touch with our muse; burn up some calories; have walking meditations; have delightful and insightful conversations; and clean-up the public road.

Now, Steve has been doing this for years. I have admired the way he consistently picks up trash—rain or shine. He always puts a plastic bag in his pocket before he starts his walk in preparation for his personally assigned civil mission. Neighbors recognize him year round picking up rubbish by the side of the road.

Besides getting a cardiovascular workout from the walking, we have to bend down to pick up the litter. The stooping and bending helps to maintain balance. Not only that, it keeps the roadside looking clean. It gives both Steve and I a sense of helping keep our environment unblemished. In essence, this exercise in litter removal is a form of worship.

Is there a way that you can get exercise and help your community or environment?

One of our favorite views on our walk. When the sun is just right, you can see it refecting off the ocean.

The Power of Intention

Intention is paramount in healing. This is where miracles happen, or appear to come about.

Several months ago, I worked with a couple in my neighborhood, who were going to have a baby. It was there first, and they were both scared. Anyway, I helped them deal with their issues.

During the week before the birth, when their lives were extremely hectic, the father forgot where to tap, and it was his intention that helped him through the last week without having a meltdown. He could only remember one point, and so he tapped that one point with total conviction. It worked! To read more about their birth experience click here.

Only One Tiny Bite of Chocolate and That Was All

Last Wednesday, I took my first EFT tele-class called Unplug Food Cravings--
Turbo Charge The Journey To Your Ideal Weight by Catherine Behan. It was a free, introductory one-hour class. I liked it so much, that I decided to take Cat’s four one-hour tele-classes on dealing with food cravings for only $99. It starts, on Wednesday, October 18 from 5:30-6:30.

Now, if you knew me, you would know that I have struggled with being a chocoholic for as long as I can remember. I feel that in doing just one hour of EFT on my food cravings that I have got a start on getting in control of my extreme craving of chocolate. I will always love it, but it will no longer run me!

Below is what I wrote to Catherine, a couple of days after taking her class.

The chocolate bar that I had taken a tiny piece from during
your class on last Wednesday (and it was remarkable that
I could take about 1/8 of a teaspoon of it and put it in my
mouth and eat it--without eating any more!!!!)

Night before last, I shared as much as my husband wanted
of that same small candy bar. I had some, too. In fact, there
is still some left. Usually, I don't like to share my best
chocolate, and I have to eat it all. I am reframing that to
"it is easy for me to share what I love. There is more
available. I don't need to eat it all myself. And it is Ok
for me to eat it, too. However, I have control over my
life."

Last night, I bought a piece of chocolate cheesecake
from a gourmet market on the coast. I shared it with
my husband, and there is still some left over. Yahoo!!!

Cat, until the call with you the other night, I didn't
really get that when I was eating half a box of See's
candies that I was bingeing.

Also, I had a huge release yesterday, crying about
missing my grandma (who has crossed over a couple
of decades ago). I don't think that I had allowed myself
to cry of the loss of her in my life and how much
she meant to me. BTW, she gave me lots of candy...

It's Now or Never

I have been talking about creating this blog for too long of a time. I have procrastinated long enough. This is the time. I am starting my Way Healthy Blog. Yipee!!!

What I plan on sharing in my blog are stories of how people have used energy to help heal their bodies, their minds, and to create their reality the way that they want. My main focus will be the use of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) that has been popularized by Gary Craig. I hope to share in a way that you will be able to use the information that I make available.

Another area that I will include the benefits of Young Living Essential Oils, and other Young Living products. I love their products and the way that they smell!
